Who am I?

For those who don’t know me, my name is Damien Everett. I have been a Personal Trainer in Mackay for more than 10 years now.

In this time I have worked with many different clients, working towards many different goals.

Regardless of a client’s training history, fitness level, or the goal they are working towards, the principles and core values remain the same:

- Create a comfortable environment for everyone to train in.

- Cut the bull***t and focus on what’s important in dieting, nutritional advice, and programming.

- Create sustainability in clients’ routines, nutritional habits, and their everyday lifestyle.

- Understand each client as a person and what motivates them.

“From Nothing To Nancys”

Nancys did not start with Personal Training or a Gym in mind at all. In fact Nancys Gym all came about from the idea of starting up Nancy Soccer Academy.

Back in high school. I was always the little fat kid. A friend of mine, Thomas, was the person who first started helping me to get into fitness and soccer.

From training everyday at the local park, we eventually built up to training at a soccer ground every single day. Rain or shine. I gave him the nickname “Nancy”. I jokingly said that we should start "Nancys Soccer Academy" and train other kids the same as we began.

Although we never went through with this, it started other similar ideas such as Nancys Running Academy, Nancys UFC, Nancys Drinking, Nancys Fishing and of course, Nancys Gym.

I believe that I wouldn't be anything like I am today if it wasn’t for the unselfishness and relentless help that Thomas and his brother Benjamin gave me. They never asked for anything in return except consistency and effort...

The unselfish help and belief they showed me was the whole reason I wanted to be a Personal Trainer, to be able to be that person to someone else.

Nancys Gym was all about providing a safe space for people who want help but may not have the resources, knowledge or access to the help that I can possibly give.
